Art Show

Day 3 ~ The Show

Don’t ask me why I didn’t take pictures of my work at the show. I have no answer for that other than it was my first show, and I was not sure what to expect.

The show theme was Black and White and Shades of Gray. It was perfect for me because I already had a piece called Shades of Gray, and I had started a piece called Better Angels Over Bad Moons. I also committed to make a smaller piece called Winter Night in Harborside. I finally got everything done, but it was a rush to get the last two pieces done.

I’m glad I started with a few pieces in a collective show to get a taste for it. I feel like since I’ve committed to making this year the start of my art career, it has really begun. I feel like an artist already.

Several people said they liked what I did. A few people mentioned that they liked the beads in my work, particularly the sparkling ones in the winter quilt. I put them at the bottom to show the glint of snow.

This show really gave me some confidence to continue doing this. Who knows what I’ll decide by the end of the year or what will happen this year, but I can’t wait to find out.
