Communal Tea 10″ X 37″ NFS
I saved and dried my tea bags for one year. After they were completely dry, I pressed them and cut them into small pieces. Those piece were sewn together. I framed each section with material and beaded the piece. The inside of the quilt is a newspaper from China. The large women bead at the top was made by the brother of a good friend and given to me years ago–the main reason this piece is NFS.
I made this piece during Covid. It is to symbolize the need to come together instead of blaming each other and tearing us all apart. The skull beads represent all of the heroes who put their own lives on the line to save others.
