This piece was made for a contest for a coffee company in Pittsburgh. I won first place with it!
The background material is cotton dyed in coffee. I got the names of all of the coffee the company sold and stitched the names into the background. The cup “glasses” are appliqued onto the background and the scenery in the glasses was appliqued and embroidered. I found material with roses on it and used it for the steam coming out of the cups. This plays on the saying of seeing through rose colored glasses.
